Up the bracket as Stepnell begins work in Northants

Construction firm Stepnell is starting work this month on a £2.35m factory and office base in Middleton Cheney, South Northamptonshire, for UK tubular racking business The Tube and Bracket Company.

The new building will create a new manufacturing facility and new offices, enabling the expanding business to relocate to the East Midlands from its current base in Banbury.

The Tube and Bracket Company provides lean manufacturing solutions to clients across the UK and Ireland including Jaguar Land Rover, BMW, Airbus, Ford and Royal Mail.

The steel-framed two-storey building will house a 14,000 sq ft manufacturing production area, 6,400 sq ft of office space and other facilities including a workplace restaurant.

The new building has been designed by Banbury-based Cumming Anderton Architects and is set to be completed in November 2016.

Paul Boyce, operations director for The Tube and Bracket Company, said: “We were impressed from the outset with the attention to detail shown by Stepnell during the tender stage and subsequently with the value engineering process undertaken after appointment as main contractor.

“We are demanding a high-quality building with minimal environmental impact that supports our continued growth. We are delighted to be working with Stepnell and are confident they will deliver the building which meets our aspirations”.

Stepnell contracts manager Jamie White added: “Our team brings a proven track record in delivering industrial and commercial buildings to the very highest standard.

“We are thrilled to be working with The Tube and Bracket Company, to create this new facility which will play an important part in the company’s continuing success story and ambitious expansion programme, creating a larger production facility, increased office space and an enhanced working environment for staff”.
