The owner of sportswear firm HUUB Design has called on Derby businesses to get behind a £45,000 sponsorship package for City of Derby swimming club.

Paralympic bronze medallist Lewis White, former City of Derby swimmer Ross Davenport and new assistant head coach Mandy Bell will be joined by more than 30 swimmers and coaches from across the club at fundraising drive on Saturday October 22.

HUUB Design, founded by owner Dean Jackson, has answered the club’s plea for support in the wake of its star swimmer Adam Peaty’s gold and silver medal haul at Rio 2016.

HUUB Design has agreed to support the club with the £15,000 annual commitment made up of kit incentives and financial support.

Swimsuits available to club members have been designed using the same high-tech research as its award-winning triathlon wetsuits – sported by such elite athletes as Rio Gold and Silver medalists Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee as well as celebrities Jenson Button and Gordon Ramsay who are also accomplished triathletes.

Jackson said: “The media spotlight that focused on the fantastic work of Adam Peaty and the City of Derby swimming club also highlighted the club’s need for financial and kit support.

“Everyone in Derby is so proud of what Adam has achieved – thanks to the fantastic training that he has received at the club.

“I hope that our support for City of Derby will contribute to the next generation of Olympic swimming stars.

“As a Derby business that is involved in the triathlon elements of swim, cycle and run I felt honour-bound to respond to that plea.

“We should all however recognise that the city as a whole benefits from such a sporting accolade and I hope that more businesses around the city will follow suit.”
