Katrina Starkie

Katrina began her career within the journalism industry, graduating with a Degree in Broadcast Journalism from Nottingham Trent University.

She went onto work for renowned media companies including the BBC and Guardian Media Group, whilst setting up her own video production business, A-Star Media in 2008, at just 21 years old.

At A-Star, Katrina was responsible for business development and marketing, along with supporting the creative development of projects. She moved to Purpose Media in 2016 when the two companies merged together, adding another string to the PM bow. At Purpose, Katrina heads up the marketing division of the business, supporting and understanding clients and their objectives.

She supports the creation of long term plans and creative strategies to benefit businesses, whilst fostering an ongoing development and understanding about marketing trends. While Katrina has an extensive understanding of marketing and business, her specialist areas lie within the content, creative writing, marketing, and social media sectors. With a passion for understanding user psychology and behaviour, Katrina integrates this knowledge into plans and content to help trigger responses.

Outside of work, Katrina enjoys walking and baking. She often brings homemade treats into the office for the PM team to enjoy. As well as getting her bake on, Katrina commits a lot of her spare time to the community, acting as a women’s ambassador and sitting on the board of the D2N2 growth hub.

Passionate about education and supportive academic environments, Katrina has also spoken to around 2,000 children and young people about their careers and development.
