{"id":2100229,"date":"2025-07-29T08:00:27","date_gmt":"2025-07-29T07:00:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/eastmidlands\/?p=2100229"},"modified":"2025-07-29T08:00:27","modified_gmt":"2025-07-29T07:00:27","slug":"recruitment-group-increases-profits-despite-challenging-uk-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/eastmidlands\/news\/2100229-recruitment-group-increases-profits-despite-challenging-uk-market","title":{"rendered":"Recruitment group increases profits despite &#8216;challenging&#8217; UK market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recruitment group Staffline believes its &#8220;operational strength as a pure-play recruitment platform&#8221; is driving significant growth in its operating profitability.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/eastmidlands\/news\/2095278-staffline-offloads-subsidiary-to-competitor-in-7m-deal\">It divested PeoplePlus in February, selling the training and employability business to Talent International (UK) in a \u00a312m deal.<\/a>\u00a0This allowed the company to focus on fast-growing recruitment activities.<\/p>\n<p>Its underlying operating profit of the remaining business increased by 55% to \u00a32.7m in the first six months of 2025. Revenues were up 9% to \u00a3486m.<\/p>\n<p>Albert Ellis, chief executive of Staffline, said: &#8220;Pleasingly, Staffline continues to secure new business and grow our market share despite the ongoing challenging macro-economic backdrop within the UK economy.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Having now created a leading pure-play recruitment platform across both the blue and white-collar recruitment markets, following the divestment of PeoplePlus, we are ideally placed to continue to capitalise on a number of exciting new organic growth opportunities.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Group has told shareholders that &#8220;despite the challenging recruitment market&#8221;, it is confident that full-year trading remains in line with management
