Nottingham-based recruitment firm Metric Search is accelerating its US expansion plans after securing private equity backing in a deal valuing the business at \u00a3100m.<\/p>\n
The investment from Southfield Capital follows a period of rapid growth for the executive search specialist, which operates across sectors including data centres, life sciences, infrastructure and engineering.<\/p>\n
Founder Joe Jani said investors were attracted by the firm\u2019s focus on specialist markets where demand for senior talent continues to outstrip supply.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve stayed deliberately narrow, focusing on markets where talent is genuinely scarce and where getting a senior hire wrong carries real consequences,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe demand for specialist talent in these sectors isn\u2019t going away. AI is driving a data centre building boom unlike anything we\u2019ve seen, while life sciences and infrastructure are scaling rapidly. What\u2019s consistently missing is the right people to lead it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jani said the new funding would primarily be used to expand Metric Search\u2019s presence in the US, which he described as the company\u2019s fastest-growing market.<\/p>\n
He added that investment would also go towards strengthening leadership teams, building data infrastructure and expanding consultant headcount.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re turning six years of placement history into a genuine proprietary market intelligence asset,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cTechnology helps, but this is still fundamentally a people business.\u201d<\/p>\n
Metric Search has reported annual revenue growth of more than 30% for the past three years, including 72% growth in the 12 months to February 2026.<\/p>\n
Despite the investment, Jani said the business would remain disciplined in its expansion strategy.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe foundation has to come first. Our growth has happened because we\u2019ve stayed focused and resisted the temptation to diversify too early,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
