Strabag UK has restructured the senior leadership team at piling specialist Van Elle following the completion of its \u00a359m acquisition of the Nottingham-based contractor.<\/p>\n
Under the new structure, chief executive Mark Cutler will step back into an advisory role across the wider Strabag UK business.<\/p>\n
Former chief operating officer Malcolm O\u2019Sullivan and preconstruction director Matt Love have both been promoted to joint managing director positions. They will work alongside chief financial officer Graeme Campbell as part of the updated leadership team.<\/p>\n
The acquisition gives the European construction group a stronger position in the UK geotechnical and piling sector as it continues to pursue its long-term growth strategy, which includes a target of \u00a31bn in revenue by 2028.<\/p>\n
Van Elle is expected to generate around \u00a3150m in turnover, although recent performance is understood to be below earlier profit expectations, reflecting softer trading conditions in some of its core markets.<\/p>\n
The business has developed a strong presence in sectors including energy and water, while activity in housing and rail has been more subdued amid broader market slowdowns.<\/p>\n
Strabag\u2019s UK operations, which also include major infrastructure involvement such as HS2 and the Anglo American Woodsmith mine project secured through its Austrian parent group, now generate approximately \u00a3600m in annual turnover.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
