{"id":2111707,"date":"2026-06-19T08:12:40","date_gmt":"2026-06-19T07:12:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/eastmidlands\/?p=2111707"},"modified":"2026-06-19T08:13:24","modified_gmt":"2026-06-19T07:13:24","slug":"private-equity-firm-exits-walling-systems-business","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.thebusinessdesk.com\/eastmidlands\/news\/2111707-private-equity-firm-exits-walling-systems-business","title":{"rendered":"Private equity firm exits walling systems business"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Holcim has completed the acquisition of Xella Group from Lone Star Funds, marking the conclusion of the private equity firm\u2019s ownership of the walling solutions specialist.<\/p>\n<p>Xella, whose UK headquarters is based in Northampton, is a provider of walling systems and energy-efficient building materials used in residential and commercial construction.<\/p>\n<p>Its portfolio includes well-known brands such as Ytong, Hebel, Silka and Multipor, which are widely used in sustainable and low-carbon building projects.<\/p>\n<p>The transaction brings Xella into the Holcim portfolio, strengthening its position in sustainable construction materials as demand continues to grow for more energy-efficient building solutions across Europe.<\/p>\n<p>During Lone Star Funds\u2019 ownership, Xella expanded its market position, improved operational performance and invested in sustainability initiatives aimed at supporting long-term growth in the construction materials sector.<\/p>\n<p>Donald Quintin, chief executive officer of Lone Star Funds said: \u201cWe are proud of what Xella has accomplished to position itself in its industry over the past several years. Working closely with Xella\u2019s management team, we supported significant investments in the business, strengthened its operational performance and positioned the company for long-term growth. We thank the entire organization for their dedication and contributions and wish them continued success as part of Holcim.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lone Star Funds, headquartered in London, is a global private equity investment firm focused on credit, real estate and corporate equity opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>The firm has been active in complex and special situation investments for more than 30 years and has
