A Nottingham-based domestic abuse support organisation has secured a \u00a31.715m social investment package to expand provision of move-on accommodation for women and children fleeing abuse.<\/p>\n
Funding from Social and Sustainable Capital will support Juno Women’s Aid’s purchase of nine properties across Nottingham and South Nottinghamshire, increasing the supply of dispersed housing designed to help survivors transition from refuge accommodation towards independent living.<\/p>\n
The package includes a \u00a31.365m loan through the Social and Sustainable Housing II (SASH II) programme and a further \u00a3350,000 from the Community Investment Fund (CIF), building on a previous \u00a33.075m SASH II facility already provided to the organisation.<\/p>\n
Additional homes will be used as two and three-bedroom move-on properties, with a particular focus on supporting families with older male children who are often unable to access traditional refuge accommodation.<\/p>\n
Alongside refuge provision, a 24-hour helpline and outreach services, the organisation delivers specialist domestic abuse support across Nottingham and South Nottinghamshire.<\/p>\n
Homes will be used to support women and children for periods of 12 to 36 months, helping families rebuild stability and improve outcomes around housing, wellbeing and long-term independence.<\/p>\n

Through this investment, we are expanding access to safe, stable housing, enabling survivors and their families to rebuild their lives. It will support them to resettle, access education and employment opportunities, and ultimately move towards securing a permanent home after the trauma they have experienced.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThis second investment from SASC allows us to continue expanding our move-on accommodation model and reduce reliance on the private rented sector, strengthening the sustainability of our services and ensuring we can support more women and children across Nottinghamshire.\u201d<\/p>\n

The investment covers Nottinghamshire and the wider East Midlands, forming part of SASC\u2019s Social and Sustainable Housing II and Community Investment Fund programmes.
