A £30m purpose-built addiction treatment facility is under construction in Nottingham, marking a major expansion for specialist provider Delamere.

The project will create 60 new jobs and strengthen access to residential behavioural health services across the East Midlands.

Delamere’s 32-bed centre will support up to 416 people a year once operational at the end of 2027, extending its services beyond its existing Cheshire base for the first time.

The development represents a major employment boost for the East Midlands healthcare and behavioural health sector, with recruitment set to span clinical, therapeutic, operational and support roles as the facility moves towards completion.

The new site is being developed on the former Nottinghamshire Fire & Rescue HQ in Bestwood, with Caddick Construction appointed as main contractor.

Once complete, the facility will sit within a 4.7-hectare landscaped setting designed to support recovery through environment-led care, including therapy spaces, communal areas, gardens and quiet reflection zones.

Martin Preston, founder and chief executive at Delamere said: “This is a huge moment for Delamere and for the people and families we exist to support.

“Delamere was created because we believed addiction treatment needed to change. Too often, people experiencing addiction are met with shame, judgement or environments that feel clinical and intimidating. We wanted to create something different: compassionate, evidence-led treatment in a place where guests feel safe, respected and able to begin the work of recovery.

“Our Cheshire site proved that a purpose-built environment, clinical expertise, therapeutic care, holistic practice and long-term aftercare can come together to create a different kind of recovery experience. Nottingham is the next step in that journey. It allows us to support more people, more families and more communities at a time when the need for high-quality addiction treatment and behavioural health support has never been clearer.”

Paul Sykes, Caddick Construction’s Regional managing director for the East Midlands said: “This is a special project to be a part of, knowing the lasting positive impact the clinic will have for people in need of addiction treatment and their families. I’m particularly proud as it will be the first scheme to commence on site since I joined Caddick and will hopefully represent the start of a long line of successful developments, as we focus on expanding our reach and establishing a significant foothold across the East Midlands. We’re pleased to see work starting on Delamere Health’s vision for the new centre.”
