Fresh disruption has hit the M1 after a multi-vehicle collision caused lengthy delays in Leicestershire, following a separate serious incident on the motorway earlier today.<\/p>\n
A crash involving five vehicles has led to significant congestion on the M1 southbound between Junction 21 (Leicester\/Fosse Park) and Junction 20 (Lutterworth).<\/p>\n
One lane is closed, with traffic reduced to two lanes and delays of around 40 minutes as queues build back towards Fosse Park.<\/p>\n
The latest incident comes as holiday traffic increases on the motorway network, with many people beginning summer getaways.<\/p>\n
It follows a separate incident on the M1 earlier today, when an air ambulance landed between Junctions 36 and 37 after reports that a person had fallen from a bridge onto the motorway below. That incident caused major delays in both directions while emergency services attended the scene.<\/p>\n
