Housebuilder Allison Homes East Midlands has welcomed Gary Whysall as commercial director, to support the region’s exciting growth plans and continue its expansion across Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Whysall joins Allison Homes with decades of industry experience, having begun his career by studying Quantity Surveying at Nottingham Trent University.

Post-graduation, Whysall started on the commercial side, building schools, office blocks and pubs, before switching to housebuilding and spending time at both SME and PLCs. For 14 years he worked for a national developer, moving up the ranks from quantity surveyor to commercial director.

Whysall said: “Allison Homes has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality homes and cultivating a supportive working environment, so that, alongside joining at the early stages of the East Midlands division, was a great attraction. My last role was in the West Midlands, so being back in the East feels like a homecoming.

“Everyone at Allison Homes has been incredibly helpful, both within the region and at Group level. In the commercial team, it’s important that we work with other departments to deliver sites on budget and to high standards.

“My goal at Allison Homes East Midlands is to ensure we’re competitive on land bids, with sensible margins throughout development. I’ll also be working closely with my team to ensure we always achieve deadlines and maximise profitability, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we achieve together.”

Karl Edwards, managing director at Allison Homes East Midlands said: “Gary has joined our region at an exciting time, as we launch our first developments and work towards expanding our areas of operation. His extensive knowledge, deep understanding of the commercial world and leadership skills will play a vital role in helping us carry out our growth strategy and we’re looking forward to seeing what he achieves with us.

“Gary is the third senior appointment we’ve made in recent months, following Emma Weston joining as Sales Director and Steve Lambley as Land Director for the West Midlands. Our team is growing at a rapid pace and with the talent of our three new directors, I’m very excited about the region’s future.”

The latest hire for BTG Eddisons in the East Midlands this summer sees Kevin O’Dell appointed as a senior surveyor.

""

Kevin O’Dell

He joins with almost 20 years commercial property experience from positions at regional surveyors & valuers Barnes Noble Edwards and, most recently, Berrys in Kettering.

Based at BTG Eddisons office in Northampton, O’Dell will work, primarily, across the East Midlands region – which is also served by offices in Kettering and Leicester – as well as supporting the firm’s agency and wider real estate service lines to clients with interests in neighbouring regions.

He has extensive experience across the full range of commercial agency disciplines – including sales & lettings instructions, acquisitions and Landlord & Tenant advice – with recent deal highlights in his most recent role such as the acquisition of 60,000 sq ft of industrial space in the region for £5.4m and the sale of a 20,000 sq ft office HQ-building with follow-up instructions from HVSS Group.

Gilbert Harvey, director of property agency said, “All our Senior Surveyors have a particular skillset when it comes to

multi-disciplinary property expertise. As well as dealmakers, they are acutely aware of the nuance of modern agency in serving the property and wider business requirements of established clients and those who are new to BTG Eddisons’ comprehensive real estate offer across the UK.”
