Games Workshop has delivered another record financial performance after strong demand for its core Warhammer business offset a decline in licensing revenue.<\/p>\n
The Nottingham-headquartered company reported total revenue of \u00a3659.7m for the year to 31 May 2026, up from \u00a3617.5m a year earlier. Profit before tax also reached a record \u00a3275.7m, compared with \u00a3262.8m in the previous year.<\/p>\n
The group’s core business continued to drive growth, with revenue increasing 11% to \u00a3626.8m, while core operating profit rose to \u00a3245.1m. Licensing revenue, which includes income from video games and other media partnerships, fell to \u00a332.9m from \u00a352.5m.<\/p>\n
Chief executive Kevin Rountree said: “Games Workshop and the Warhammer hobby are in great shape. We delivered Group revenue and profit before tax at record levels thanks to another good performance from the core business.<\/p>\n
“After a record year, we remain customer focused and look forward to building on the progress we have made. I thank all of our customers together with our staff, trade accounts, our licensing partners and broader stakeholders for their ongoing support. Exciting times.”<\/p>\n
The company said it remains focused on long-term growth through investment in its own intellectual property, manufacturing capacity and global distribution network rather than pursuing short-term gains.<\/p>\n
Around 79% of Games Workshop’s core sales now come from outside the UK, with products sold through its own retail stores, independent stockists and online channels.<\/p>\n
The retailer expanded its global footprint during the year, ending the period with 598 stores across 24 countries, alongside more than 9,100 independent retail partners operating in 71 countries.<\/p>\n
Investment also continued across its Nottingham operations, where the business designs and manufactures its products.<\/p>\n
During the year, Games Workshop invested \u00a321.9m in its Warhammer design studio and a further \u00a37.6m in tooling, primarily for new plastic miniatures.<\/p>\n
The company is also expanding its manufacturing capacity. A new factory in Nottingham is currently being fitted out, while additional warehouse space has been secured near its East Midlands Gateway distribution hub to support future growth.<\/p>\n
Beyond miniatures, Games Workshop said it continues to grow the Warhammer brand through books, animation, video games and other licensed products, while ensuring these opportunities complement its core tabletop business.<\/p>\n
The company sold more than five million novels through its Black Library publishing arm during the year and said it will continue investing in new products, stories and digital content to strengthen customer engagement worldwide.<\/p>\n
Games Workshop said its long-term strategy remains centred on producing high-quality fantasy miniatures, expanding the Warhammer universe and growing its retail, trade and online channels together while maintaining strong cash generation to fund future investment.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
