Automotive retailer Vertu has appointed Dassos Morby as general manager of its Skoda dealership in Leicester.

Morby joined the business in June and will lead the Groby Road site, which became Vertu’s fifth Skoda dealership after it was acquired from Marshalls in November last year.

He began his career with BMW before moving to Audi as a general sales manager and has since held a number of senior leadership roles across Volkswagen Group brands.

During a career spanning almost 20 years in dealership management, Morby has led several sites across the Midlands.

Dassos Morby, General Manager of Vertu Skoda Leicester, said: “After more than a decade with my previous company, I’m delighted to take on a fresh challenge leading the team at Skoda Leicester.

“I’ve always believed that a great business is built on great people and I can already see that there are plenty of those people here in the dealership, with a team that takes pride in what they do and is focused on providing customers with the very best experience.

“With my own experience working with the Skoda brand, I’m looking forward to building on the foundations that are already in place to help drive the dealership towards further success.”

Robert Forrester, Chief Executive of Vertu, said: “We’re delighted to bring someone with as much experience as Dassos into the Group to lead what is still a relatively new franchise for us in Leicester.

“His knowledge of what is required to deliver high levels of performance across a dealership is invaluable, and I have no doubt that his appointment will strengthen the team at Skoda Leicester whilst helping the site to flourish.”
