Property entrepreneur Marc Brough is changing his role across his wider property businesses, with Tim Corthorn appointed as managing director of Staton Young and the Charjen group of companies.

Brough, who founded flexible workspace provider Cubo alongside his wife and co-founder Rebecca, will move into a strategic advisory position across the two businesses, supporting their long-term direction while stepping away from day-to-day management.

Staton Young specialises in commercial property management, residential property and warehousing, while the Charjen group oversees the family’s wider property assets.

Corthorn joins the businesses following a 40-year career at NatWest in senior leadership roles, bringing operational and strategic experience to support the next stage of growth.

Brough said the appointment will allow him and Rebecca to focus on the bigger picture while remaining involved in the areas that matter most to the businesses.

Sharing the update on LinkedIn, he said: “It’s time for a new chapter. I’m handing over day-to-day leadership of Staton Young and the Charjen group of companies to Tim Corthorn , who joins us as Managing Director.

“After four decades at NatWest in senior leadership, Tim has exactly the operational rigour and strategic clarity we need. He’ll own all day-to-day operations and drive both forward.

“I’m moving into a strategic advisory role, focused on shaping long-term direction and pursuing new opportunities — particularly improving my golf handicap and some exciting brand projects. This allows Becky and me to step back and enjoy what we’ve built while staying deeply involved in what matters most.

Whilst I am handing over detailed operations to Tim on our family assets, I will remain CEO of Cubo in its entirety and look forward to driving it forward. Tim shares our values: integrity, excellence, and genuine commitment. Our businesses are in very capable hands. Here’s to the next phase.”

Brough launched Cubo in 2020 and has expanded the flexible workspace brand across a number of UK locations, while continuing to develop his wider property interests through Staton Young and the Charjen group.

The leadership change will see Corthorn take responsibility for the daily running of the property businesses as Brough focuses on strategic growth and future opportunities.
