A \u00a335m residential regeneration scheme in Chilwell, Nottinghamshire, is gathering momentum, with more than \u00a39m already invested in infrastructure, groundworks and construction at the former Barton Bus Depot.<\/p>\n
The Barton Square development forms the second phase of the wider Barton Quarter scheme and will deliver 93 new homes designed by architect Ben Pentreath.<\/p>\n
Significant infrastructure works are already underway, including the creation of a new spine road through the development and the final stage of sewer installation. A new vehicle access point has also been opened from Holly Lane.<\/p>\n
Construction of the first homes is progressing, with superstructure works at different stages across the site and roofing work scheduled to begin shortly.<\/p>\n
The first properties are expected to be ready for occupation in the first quarter of 2027, with two- to four-bedroom homes currently available to reserve at prices ranging from \u00a3360,000 to \u00a3550,000. Completion of the wider development is scheduled for the end of 2028.<\/p>\n

Before the first homes are ready to move into next year, we will have invested over \u00a316m in groundworks, infrastructure and construction to transform the former Barton Bus Depot.<\/p>\n

The development will feature a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom mews and coach houses, alongside two- to five-bedroom villa-style houses.<\/p>\n
Sustainability is a key part of the scheme, with homes being designed to meet the latest Future Homes Standard requirements and achieve high EPC ratings. Features will include Hive smart thermostats, electric vehicle charging points and solar PV panels.<\/p>\n
The site sits between Bramcote and Attenborough Nature Reserve, less than a mile from Beeston railway station and close to tram and bus connections into Nottingham. The development also provides access to the M1 and is around four miles from Nottingham city centre.<\/p>\n
Residents will be within walking distance of shops, restaurants, bars, schools and other amenities in Chilwell and Beeston, while Chilwell Retail Park, Chilwell Manor Golf Course, Attenborough Nature Reserve and the River Trent are also nearby.<\/p>\n
