Lovell Renew has begun the second year of a three-year programme to improve the energy performance of thousands of social homes across Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Peterborough.<\/p>\n
The refurbishment and retrofit specialist is delivering the work for social housing provider Amplius through the \u00a358m Wave 3 Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund programme.<\/p>\n
A total of 713 properties were upgraded during the first year of the programme in 2025\/26. The pace will now increase, with a further 750 homes scheduled for completion during each of the next two years.<\/p>\n
The partnership has also secured additional funding that will allow around 1,500 more properties to be upgraded over the same period.<\/p>\n
Overall, the programme is targeting more than 3,700 properties across Amplius\u2019 housing portfolio by March 2028. A further 250 homes are also due to receive solar PV and battery installations, taking the total number of properties being improved to almost 4,000.<\/p>\n
Matt Hickman, refurbishment partnerships director at Lovell Renew said: “Reaching the start of year two in our Wave 3 programme is a fantastic milestone for our team and our longstanding partners at Amplius Living. The application for funding to complete a further 1,800 homes also showcases the confidence in the partnership and our ability to deliver people-focused retrofit at scale and pace.<\/p>\n

The latest programme follows an earlier \u00a315m Wave 2 contract, under which Lovell Renew upgraded 260 homes during 2024\/25.<\/p>\n
More than 3,000 energy-efficiency measures were installed during that phase, which recorded a 98% resident satisfaction rate against a target of 95%.<\/p>\n
The programme also diverted 99.6% of waste from landfill, while all properties achieved an improvement in energy performance from EPC ratings of D-G to C or above.<\/p>\n
Lovell Renew is delivering the work through a PAS 2035 turnkey model, with measures including external and internal wall insulation, loft insulation, high-efficiency windows and doors, solar PV, air source heat pumps and environmental monitoring technology.<\/p>\n

The partnership is also placing emphasis on local economic and social benefits, with Lovell Renew using local suppliers and promoting reuse and recycling of materials.<\/p>\n
Community activity has included resident coffee mornings and drop-in sessions, school engagement around sustainable construction careers and environmental responsibility, and Christmas donations across the programme’s delivery areas.<\/p>\n
Lovell Renew is also working with tenant-led campaign group Stop Social Housing Stigma, which aims to challenge negative perceptions around social housing and highlight its role in communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
