Property and construction consultancy EDGE has completed its work on a \u00a326.5m endoscopy unit at Lincoln County Hospital.<\/p>\n
The purpose-built facility has been developed to meet growing demand for diagnostic services across the United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.<\/p>\n
The four-room unit includes 12 dedicated preparation and recovery pods, with space incorporated into the design for a further two procedure rooms as demand increases.<\/p>\n
EDGE delivered the project through the NHS ProCure23 Framework, providing NEC4 project management, NEC supervision, design coordination, programme support and healthcare planning.<\/p>\n
The scheme also includes facilities designed to support both patients and clinical teams, including a dedicated interview room, decontamination areas, accessible drop-off points, booking and administration space, staff welfare facilities and a live training suite.<\/p>\n

The facility is expected to increase diagnostic capacity while improving privacy and the working environment for staff.<\/p>\n
Professor Karen Dunderdale, Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group chief executive said: “Our endoscopy diagnostic services can help to detect cancer, so it is vital that we invest in these services to continue to be able to support our patients with fast and comfortable diagnostic services. This new unit will enable us to increase our diagnostic capacity, improve patient experience by offering even higher levels of patient privacy and provide a great working environment for our staff.”<\/p>\n
EDGE’s Nottingham team provided specialist support throughout the project, with the consultancy’s project team including Nev Bould, Dan Tofan, Carl Smith, Peter Bradwell, Joe Burns, Paula Atkin and Simon Brown.<\/p>\n
