The M1 in Leicestershire has been closed in both directions after a lorry overturned and came to rest on the central reservation.<\/p>\n
The motorway is shut between Junction 24 at Kegworth and Junction 23A for East Midlands Airport while the vehicle is recovered.<\/p>\n
Specialist recovery teams are being sent to the scene to remove the lorry safely, with motorists warned to expect disruption and allow additional time for their journeys.<\/p>\n
Southbound traffic is being diverted off the M1 at Junction 24 and onto the A453 southbound.<\/p>\n
Drivers should continue on the A453 to the M1 Junction 23A\/A42\/A453 Finger Farm Roundabout before taking the first exit onto the M1\/A42 southbound entry slip road and rejoining the M1 at Junction 23A.<\/p>\n
Northbound motorists should leave the M1 at Junction 23A and take the slip road onto the A42.<\/p>\n
At Finger Farm Roundabout, drivers should take the third exit onto the A453 and continue to the A453\/A50\/M1 Junction 24 interchange, where they can rejoin the M1 northbound.<\/p>\n
