Tuntum Housing Association chief executive Charmaine Simei has been appointed to the board of the National Housing Federation (NHF).<\/p>\n
Simei brings more than 30 years\u2019 experience in the social housing sector to the national role, having held senior positions across the sector and contributed to initiatives focused on diversity and representation.<\/p>\n
She has previously worked as a mentor with the Housing Diversity Network and is an executive member of BME National.<\/p>\n
Tuntum manages more than 1,600 affordable homes across 12 local authority areas in the East Midlands.<\/p>\n
Simei said: \u201cIt is a privilege to be appointed to the NHF board. I have been in the sector for 30 years and my belief in the role that housing plays in changing lives and building stronger communities has never dimmed, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute at a national level.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI look forward to working with fellow board members to champion the needs of residents and colleagues, support and promote the vital work of the sector, and help shape a resilient, inclusive and sustainable future for social housing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Simei will join three other housing sector chief executives on the NHF board, with the appointments supporting the organisation\u2019s governance and delivery of its 2025-30 business strategy.<\/p>\n

The new board members are expected to support the NHF in representing its members and shaping its work across the social housing sector.<\/p>\n
