The identities of serious bidders remain unclear, although a football insider said the deadline had been pushed back to accommodate additional interested parties.<\/p>\n<p>Reports have suggested King Power is seeking up to \u00a3225m for the club. A deal at anything approaching that figure would represent a record valuation for a club competing at League One level.<\/p>\n<p>The asking price comes after a dramatic reversal in Leicester\u2019s fortunes. The club won the Premier League title in 2016 and subsequently qualified for the Champions League, but has since suffered successive relegations and now sits 17th in the third tier.<\/p>\n<p>The club\u2019s decline has followed a series of crises, including the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in a helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Leicester retains training facilities regarded as among the best in the country, but its position in League One presents a stark contrast with the heights reached under Vichai\u2019s ownership.<\/p>\n<p>The sale process is unfolding as English football faces renewed scrutiny over its financial sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>The new Independent Football Regulator is due to publish its inaugural State of the Game report on Tuesday. <em>Sky News<\/em> reported last week that the report will find 94% of professional clubs are loss-making, while 97% have operating costs that exceed turnover.<\/p>\n<p>Leicester
