Aldi is recruiting for 600 roles at its distribution centre in Bardon, Leicestershire, as the supermarket continues to scale up operations at the site over the next 12 months.<\/p>\n
The 1.3m sq ft facility began operating in May 2026 and is Aldi\u2019s first automated distribution centre in the UK.<\/p>\n
The retailer has invested more than \u00a3500m in the site as part of its \u00a31.6bn UK expansion programme.<\/p>\n
Fresh produce operations began at Bardon in September, marking another stage in the centre\u2019s development.<\/p>\n
Once fully operational, it will be the UK\u2019s largest supermarket distribution centre, with capacity to move around seven million pallets a year and supply stores across the Midlands and beyond.<\/p>\n
The vacancies cover warehouse operations, logistics and transport, with roles including warehouse pickers, warehouse operations assistants and transport assistants. Start dates will be spread across the coming year.<\/p>\n
Warehouse operations assistants currently earn between \u00a313.31 and \u00a316.64 an hour, depending on shift pattern, while competitive salaries are available for transport and other operational positions.<\/p>\n

Aldi is also among 40 retailers to have signed up to Opening Shift, a partnership between the Government and the British Retail Consortium offering 11,000 work experience placements for people aged 18 to 24.
