Award-winning building materials specialist takes honorary role in trade body group
A Leicester businesswoman has been elected Chair of the Ambassador Group at national trade body the Builders Merchants Federation (BMF).
Natalie Chapman, Senior Recruitment Consultant at Stirling Warrington, which has its headquarters in Exploration Drive, specialises in attracting talent to the building materials supply industry and has been one of more than 60 BMF Ambassadors, who actively promote the opportunities offered within the industry to students and job-seekers, for the last year.
Following an ‘Ambassador of the Year’ win at the BMF Members Annual Conference in September, Natalie was chosen to lead the Ambassadors Group earlier this month.
Natalie’s role will see her engaging with companies to promote apprenticeships in the industry, highlight the opportunities it can offer and encourage people within the industry to join the Ambassador programme.
Natalie said: “I’m so excited to be offered the opportunity to work with the team at the BMF and head up the Ambassador Group.
“There are 860 merchant and supplier companies with a combined sales of over £45 billion in membership of the BMF, employing over 232,000 people in the building materials industry.
“The scope and scale of membership means there’s a wide range of opportunities available and a key focus of the group has been to encourage the next generation to get into building materials and construction, either from apprenticeships or as graduates, and making sure our industry is a recognised career choice for the younger generation.
“The programme has a huge impact on the future of the sector and we would like to recruit new ambassadors to shout about all the amazing opportunities there are available.”
