Plans submitted to repurpose city centre offices to apartments

A planning application has been submitted to Birmingham City Council to convert a city centre building of offices into residential apartments.

Lonsdale House, a five-storey 1960s office building, is located on Blucher Street, close to Birmingham city centre.

A decision about the application will be made by the council after 12 April, when it closes to public feedback.

Developer MCR Property Group has submitted planning applications to the council, prepared by Sheffield-based CODA Architects.

MCR is currently developing the £275m New Monaco urban village on Bristol Street, which will bring more than 1,000 apartments and townhouses to Birmingham city centre in 2023.
