Thousands of jobs available at Manchester Airport, East Midlands and London Stansted

Up to 3,000 jobs are available across Manchester Airport, East Midlands and London Stansted as the easing of travel restrictions has sparked a revival of air travel.

Around 1,000 of these roles are directly with Manchester Airports Group (MAG) and range from security officers, customer service officers and car park staff to hospitality and lounge workers.

The rest are available at third party companies including Jet2.com, Ryanair, Swissport, UK Border Force, Menzies, and ABM which are operating at the three airports.

A virtual jobs fair to learn about many of these roles will take place on 25th January on Microsoft Teams. Anyone interested in attending the event or finding out more can do so here.

All three MAG airports were experiencing a strong recovery during October and November. While that slowed slightly when restrictions were brought in in response to the omicron variant, these controls were last week removed.

Karen Smart, Manchester Airport Managing Director, said: “We always knew the sector would quickly bounce back with the easing of travel restrictions, which were relaxed this weekend.

“This means we now have hundreds of fantastic, interesting roles available to suit a wide range of people with different experience, skills and backgrounds. We encourage applications from individuals with great people skills, ambition and enthusiasm.

“Airports are a great, varied placed to work that are interesting and offer excellent potential. Our colleagues get huge job satisfaction from interacting with customers and helping to give them a great start to their holidays.”

This week Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) also announced it is holding a recruitment day with 200 jobs on offer.

A number of companies based at the airport are looking to fill roles ahead of what is expected to be the busiest summer season since 2019.
