Bosses at Manchester-based online fashion retailer, boohoo, have been subjected to stalking, with one claiming to have been assaulted, according to reports.

Police in Manchester and Kent are now dealing with the claims of stalking, including “serious alarm and distress” and “corporate espionage”.

No arrests have been made and the identities of those involved are unknown.

A report by The Times outlines incidents involving boohoo co-founder and executive chairman, Mahmud Kamani, current CEO Dan Finley, and former CEO, John Lyttle.

The boohoo executives say they have been followed in recent months by men on public transport and in public areas in Manchester, London and Kent.

It is reported that former CEO, John Lyttle, who stood down in October, found two men on his property in Kent, and Mahmud Kamani was assaulted by one of the men in Manchester.

The boohoo bosses say they were watched from outside their homes and unregistered surveillance equipment has also been recovered from a location outside boohoo’s Manchester HQ last month and handed to police. The Information Commissioner’s Office has also been informed.

The equipment was used to record images of boohoo staff entering and leaving the building.

A Kent Police spokesman said officers were “investigating reported stalking offences including at locations within the Sevenoaks area. Inquiries are ongoing and there have been no arrests”.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “An investigation is ongoing around stalking involving serious alarm/distress with no arrests made at this stage.”

A boohoo spokesman said: “It would be inappropriate to comment whilst a police investigation is ongoing.”
