Barristers tie-up double merger

A NEW regional legal powerhouse has been created by through the merger of barristers at St Johns Buildings Chambers, Manchester, and sets in Liverpool and Sheffield.
Manchester-based St Johns Buildings (SJB), which has offices in Preston and Chester, is to merge with Liverpool’s India Buildings Chambers and Paradise Chambers of Sheffield.
The enlarged practice will create the largest multi-disciplinary chambers in the country. The mergers create a barristers’ Chambers with more than 250 barristers, including 12 QCs, and 70 support staff.
SJB head Michael Redfern QC commented: “SJB is delighted to announce these mergers, which form part of an ongoing strategy of growth. This strategy allows Chambers to deliver legal services to clients in a wide geographical area to fixed and predictable costs and service standards.”
