Key opens up in Liverpool

MANCHESTER-based residential lettings agency Key Properties is to expand into Liverpool.

The city centre rentals specialist has taken space at Horton House in Exchange Flags in the city’s business district.

The business, which was set up in 2004 by managing director Saf Ali, currently has two offices in Greater Manchester in the city centre and at Salford Quays. It employs 16 people and manages more than 1,500 properties.

Ali said that the move would be part of a concerted push outside of its Manchester base, The firm is planning to open an outlet in another “major northern city” in the third quarter of 2011. It is also targeting four branch openings in 2012 as its moves to the Midlands and the south.

“Weaker businesses may balk at aggressive expansion at a time when there’s little new housing stock in the pipeline and competition is fierce for market share,” said Ali.

“However, at Key we’re confident in bucking the trend, as our Manchester operation boasts 6.87% of the local market – placing us second in the regional league table, above numerous national players and household names.”

The company is looking to recruit four new members of staff at the Liverpool office, which will be headed by senior lettings managers Nawaz Ali and Kohloud Honeni.

‘’With experience in marketing city centre properties, we’re looking forward to securing equally impressive market share in Liverpool and across the North West,” he said.
