Park Inn opens in Manchester

THE Park Inn hotel opens its doors today, bringing another 250 beds and 100 jobs to Manchester’s bustling hotel sector.

The £27m four-star hotel, in the city’s Green Quarter and near Victoria train station, has more than 250 rooms, including six suites and business facilities including five meeting rooms and a 200 capacity conference space. Health and leisure facilities include a swimming pool, a gym, a sauna and steam room and two treatment rooms.

In-house restaurant RBG Bar & Grill will be run by executive chef Andrew Green, who joins from sister hotel group the Radisson Blu where he was executive chef at Manchester Airport.

The hotel employs around 100 staff, including Jill Browton, its newly appointed director of sales and marketing, who joins from the Malmaison in Manchester.

Neil Raw, general manager of the hotel, said: “It’s a great time to be opening a hotel in Manchester. More people are considering staying in the UK for their holidays this year and Manchester has something for everyone.”

There are 24 Park Inn branded hotels across the country, operated by The Rezidor Hotel Group, but the company said it plans to open another 226-room Park Inn hotel at Old Trafford, and a 98-bed hotel in Preston over the next two years.
