Lack of tenants prompts marketing drive

A flagship development in south Manchester is still empty nearly two years after the first phase was completed.

The developers behind Didsbury Point – Countryside Porperties and Liberty Property Trust – are now launching a new marketing campaign to raise the location’s profile.

Paul Rubincam, director of Liberty Property Trust UK, said: “We have significantly moved our offer to appeal to a much wider occupancy base, in terms of size and type of user.

“The style and arrangement of the building makes it equally suitable for single occupation, floor-by-floor users or smaller companies occupying a split floor suite to suit from 2,500 sq ft upwards.”

The proposed 238,125 sq ft development, featuring five new office blocks in a landscaped office park, was designed to attract the large corporate user.

The first building, offering 55,130 sq ft and 167 car spaces, was completed and launched in 2007 but it is still empty.

The developers have now appointed property consultants p3 and Knight Frank to execute a fresh marketing and disposal strategy. They have also installed a marketing and management suite at the building.
