Sale of Mersey print firm saves over 100 jobs

THE administrators of Liverpool-based print and direct mail firm Character DPM have sold the business to Magnadata Group.

Magnadata subsidiary Citizen ID Ltd has said that it will continue to operate both of Character DPM’s print sites at Warrington and Bootle, as well as its direct mail operation in Aintree, safeguarding 111 jobs.

Commenting on the sale, KPMG’s associate partner Paul Flint said: “We are delighted to have concluded this sale of the business and its assets – not least because we have saved over 100 jobs across the three Character sites. 

“The KPMG team has traded the business over the last six weeks in order to give the best opportunity for the business to move forward.

“At times, given the prevailing economic climate, this has been problematic – however, the resulting sale is an excellent outcome and I would like to thank Character’s employees and suppliers for all their help and support over the last six weeks.”
