Swine flu fears spark sales surge

FEARS over the swine flu outbreak has triggered a surge in demand for anti-bacterial hand wipes.

US giant Nice-Pak, which has a major manufacturing site in Flint, North Wales, says sales of its Sani+Hands brand have quadrupled in the last three months.
In the last week alone Sani+Hands sales have risen 30%.

Ian Anderson, marketing director at Nice-Pak, which employs 500 people at the factory, said: “The increase in sales of Sani+Hands is a result of the British ‘keep calm and carry on’ attitude.

“Wipes are a convenient way to keep hands clean on the go, allowing people to go about their daily business without worrying about germs.”

Health chief fear that swine flu rates will surge next month when schools return after the summer breaks and have advised people to improve  hygeine to stop the virus spreading.
