Appointments: MP new Medicash chairman; hires at PwC and Momentum Instore

BIRKENHEAD MP Frank Field has been appointed chairman of the board of the Liverpool mutual Medicash.
Mr Field, an MP since 1979, takes over the role from Bill Tubey who has served on the board since 2003 and will continue to act as a non–executive director.
Chief executive Sue Weir said: “Frank is a nationally renowned MP with a reputation for spearheading reform and debate in a wide number of areas. I know he will be a tremendous asset to Medicash as we progress and the entire board is delighted he has accepted the role.”
Frank Field said: “I have great admiration for Medicash. Over the last 140 years the organisation has consistently supported the health and wellbeing of the local community and undertaken a significant amount of charitable giving.
“Whilst maintaining that commitment, Medicash has alongside this achieved considerable commercial success. I am pleased to accept the role of Chairman and looking forward to playing a part in its further development. “
Mr Field has worked with Medicash for eight years having first been appointed as a non–executive director in 2003. His remuneration for the new post, as with his last, will be given directly to local charities in Birkenhead.

ACCOUNTANCY firm PwC has strengthened its consulting team with the appointment of a new partner, Neil McTiffin.
He has taken up the new post of regional consulting private sector lead for the North, focusing on growing, mid-tier private sector companies.
With more than 20 years experience working with senior executives in business transformation, IT enablement and programme governance, McTiffin is based in the Manchester office and responsible for heading up the consultancy team across the North.
He has held a number of consultancy, manufacturing, engineering and operations management roles in the aerospace, defence, and mining sectors.
He said: “In order to stay ahead and grow, businesses need to rethink the way they work to deal with the organisational and business complexity that builds up over time.
“Reducing this complexity, becoming more standardised and moving to common ways of working allow businesses to create more flexible, scalable operating models that can respond to ever changing market conditions and operate at a lower cost. “

MANCHESTER-based Momentum Instore, the provider of retail marketing solutions, has promoted Steph Gleave to the role of sales and marketing director.
In her new role Gleave will provide first-hand support and direction for the sales and marketing personnel in Cheshire as well as working on strategic client development.
She will also be the custodian of standards for all client facing documents, pitches and presentations in addition to providing support to account directors.
Gleave joined the company as a project manager 15 years ago. For the past eight years she has been a client development director.
