Studies prove value of AMS’s wound care range

ADVANCED Medical Solutions, the Winsford-based medical technology firm specialising in wound care products, has announced the publication of two positive studies relating to its silver alginate range.

The firm said that two studies published by the International Wound Journal and the Journal of Wound Care, demonstrated the antimicrobial efficacy of the products.

The studies found that silver alginate dressings were effective against 160 chronic burn and wound microorganisms, including 29 strains of the MRSA superbug.

Chris Meredith, chief executive officer of AMS, said: “We are very pleased with the efficacy results for our silver alginate woundcare products, which continue to prove effective against MRSA, one of the most problematic infections to treat.
