Cunard flagship, Queen Mary 2, to visit line’s spiritual home of Liverpool in September

Cruise group Cunard’s flagship vessel, Queen Mary 2, will visit Liverpool in September.

The visit is part of a range of events across Liverpool and Cunard’s home port of Southampton during the year aimed at the group’s travel agents who will be able to experience the cruise line’s passenger offer.

Queen Mary 2 will visit Liverpool On September 18-19 this year.

The visit will focus on how travel agents can communicate the Cunard difference to customers, with a number of immersive on board experiences, from dining to entertainment, designed to showcase the brand’s luxury proposition. A second wave of ship visits will be announced in the autumn.

Tom Mahoney, Cunard director of UK sales, said: “There is no better way to understand the magic of a Cunard voyage than by stepping on board and experiencing our luxury proposition firsthand.

“Our 2025 programme of fam trips and ship visits is designed to empower our valued travel agent partners with the knowledge and confidence to sell Cunard with passion and expertise.”

Liverpool, Cunard’s spiritual home, last hosted Queen Mary 2 on September 6 last year in an overnight stop as part of celebrations of her 400th transatlantic crossing.

Cunard began passenger services between Europe and North America in 1840 from its then Liverpool headquarters.

It relocated its HQ to the port of Southampton in 1967.
