Stairlift company heading up in the world after further expansion to bigger premises

A Cheshire stairlift company that began in 2008 in the garage of one of its owners has expanded to a 17,000 sq ft warehouse unit following further growth.
Halton Stairlifts is owned by husband and wife duo Neil, 43, and Kate Mckenzie, 38, and their friend and business partner, Jon Williams, 41.
With a wealth of stairlift installation and servicing experience behind them, stairlift technicians Neil, Jon, and accounts and HR executive Kate, decided to take a change of direction in their careers when they created Halton Stairlifts from a home garage. It rapidly grew and the simple weekend or out of hours jobs turned into a seven day a week operation that then continued to see the business flourish.
The entrepreneurs quickly realised they needed much bigger premises.
The team moved into a 1,000 sq ft unit in an industrial estate in Widnes, before quickly taking over the warehouse next door, which, combined, saw Halton Stairlifts working in a 2,000 sq ft unit.
In 2017, the team moved into a brand new 8,000 sq ft warehouse facility in Speke and has continued to operate from there, until now, when Halton Stairlifts is expanding further and moving into an even larger 17,000 sq ft warehouse and office facility back in Halton, Cheshire.
Director, Neil Mckenzie, said: “What started as a small business idea has turned into a powerhouse of helping people across the UK stay independent in their homes and we couldn’t be more proud of Halton Stairlifts’ growth over the past 16 years.
