London’s new Lord mayor visits Liverpool’s London outpost

LIVERPOOL Vision welcomed the 684th Lord Mayor (Elect) of the City of London, David Wootton, to its Liverpool in London facility on Monday.

David Wootton, who will officially become the next Lord Mayor of the City of London on 11 November, visited the ‘Liverpool in London’ office to meet Liverpool Vision chairman Mike Parker and the chair of the Liverpool in London steering board Guy Wallis, co-founder of law firm DWF.

Mike Parker, chairman of Liverpool Vision, said: “David Wootton asked to meet us to discuss ways in which our two great cities might work together in the future as well as to find out more about 21st century Liverpool.

“The meeting was an excellent opportunity for us to demonstrate the strength of Liverpool’s financial and professional sectors and showcase Liverpool as a great place to work and invest.  Discussions were very positive and we will be exploring opportunities for closer partnerships in the future.”

Mr Wootton, who is originally from Bradford and a partner for Allen & Overy, said: “I was very impressed by Liverpool in London.

“Their very presence in London highlights Liverpool as a city that is confident, ambitious, forward-thinking and innovative, and I look forward to continuing to develop our relationship over the coming months.”
