Tampopo launches new East Street brand in London

TAMPOPO, the Manchester-based Asian food specialist, has launched a new brand with the opening of its first central London site.
Called East Street, the new 3,500 sq ft restaurant is on Rathbone Place off Oxford Street. It has seating for a 100 diners and also features a ‘grab and go area’ for customers wanting to take food home or back to work.
Tampopo co-founder and director David Fox said the East Street concept is based on traditional Asian street food dining.
He said: “London is an area which has been in our long-term sights. We are very excited about this new concept and we hope to continue to expand within the next few years.”
Manchester law firm Kuits Solicitors advised Tampopo on the licensing aspects of the opening.
Anthony Lyons, licensing partner said: “It is always great to see Manchester based businesses take on the market in our capital city. We wish East Street every success with this exciting new concept and look forward to assisting with their future plans for growth.”
George Davies Solicitors advised Tampopo, which has three sites in Manchester and restaurants in Leeds, Bristol and Reading, on the property lease of the London site.
