Appointments: KPMG Preston office has new head & more

ACCOUNTANTS and business advisers KPMG has appointed audit partner Richard Evans as senior partner of its Preston office.
Mr Evans, who is also head of the chemicals and pharmaceuticals sector practice at KPMG in the North, succeeds partner Martin Newsholme who, having held the role for almost four years, will focus on client work.
He has over 20 years’ audit experience, and moved to the North West in 1995.
Northern chairman Jonathan Hurst said: “Richard has played a central role in expanding our North West audit practice in recent years and is the ideal candidate to lead our Preston office through the next stage of its strategic development.

CBRE has appointed Colin Thomasson to head its capital markets team in the North West.
Thomasson joins from property investment company Ashall Property, where he was investment director for three years.
Before Ashall he was head of DTZ’s investment team in Manchester for 15 years before going on to work in New York for the firm.
He said: “I am very much looking forward to the opportunity of working with such a prestigious company and team in the region. The economy is in a difficult place at the moment, however CBRE continuously defies the state of the market andachieves success.”

PROPERTY adviser Nolan Redshaw has appointed Margaret Maguire to head its property management department.
Formerly an associate director of Jones Lang LaSalle in Manchester, she worked with clients including Warner Estate Holdings, Hammerson and Scottish Widows.
Mike Redshaw, director at Bury-based Nolan Redshaw, said: “Margaret has 28 years of experience within the property management sector and we are extremely pleased to welcome such a high calibre surveyor to the company. The appointment will strengthen the team and its services to our high profile client base.”

WORKPLACE design and business relocation company Harrow Green has appointed Ewan Campbell as a commercial relocation consultant.
Based at the national company’s Middleton base, he will be responsible for growing its business in the region and also managing a contract with Bradford city council. He has joined from Newcastle-upon-Tyne-based Jackal International.
Harrow Green has the contract to relocating the contents of Manchester’s Central Library, including more than a million books and journals, while it is being refurbished.

NORTH West property adviser The Vinden Partnership has appointed Ian Burnell as its regional director for the Midlands, based in its Nottingham office.
Peter Vinden, managing director of the Bolton-based firm said: “Ian’s appointment as regional director of TVP’s Midlands office is a great opportunity for the team to be guided by someone with a vast amount of experience in the construction industry.”

COMMERCIAL design studio Space Invader has appointed Rachel Withey as a senior interior designer in its Manchester office.
Rachel, who has joined from Fairhursts Design Group, has nine years’ experience in the industry and recently worked on the £18m fit out of Salford University’s new facility at MediaCityUK.
Meanwhile Space Invader has promoted Sarah Dodsworth to associate. She has been with the firm for 18 months, and previously worked with directors Simon Millington and John Williams at HKR Architects.

In her new role at the Cheadle companu she will be focusing on increasing the company’s employer brand and achieving best companies to work for and Investors in People accreditation for 2012.

SIMON Frith, pictured, has joined Cheshire-based developer Gladman as a land buyer.
Based in Congleton, Gladman says that despite the challenges facing the property sector, is it looking to expand. Mr Frith, who will work in Gladman’s Adlington business, is the sixth recent appointment.
