B3 Cables chief leaves to head property firm

THE former managing director of Manchester-based B3 Cables has left the firm to join Chester-based property firm The Cavendish Partnership as managing director.

Mr Ellis joined B3 around a year after a buy-out at the north Manchester company and subsequently led deals to buy businesses in Sweden, Spain and Ireland.

A spokesman for B3 confirmed his departure yesterday.

“While Steve had played an important role in the company over many years, he left by mutual consent after we had already strengthened our management team with the appointments of Kevin Samuel as chief commercial officer and Colin Sykes as chief executive officer,” the spokesman said.

“During the last two years, the group has expanded its geographic presence and product offerings through a number of strategic acquisitions and Colin and Kevin’s appointments bring valuable international experience in a number of key markets.”
