Care group Hica creates jobs

NOT-for-profit care Hica Group says it will create 200 jobs this year as it expands in the region.
The Hull-based care homes operator and service provider’s Hica At Home division is already recruiting for 50 people to service a recently-awarded Lancashire County Council tender to provide care services for residents at the new Brookside extra care housing scheme at Ormskirk.
A further 150 people will be recruited in the coing months, mainly in the Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, Chorley, Leyland and Preston areas.
Based at offices in Buckshaw Retirement Village near Chorley, Hica At Home personal and specialist care to people in their own homes, from a daily 30-minute vist to round-the-clock care.
Penni Brown, managing director of Hica At Home said: “We are delighted to have won this contract and to be able to provide additional employment opportunities in Ormskirk and the surrounding area.
“All our work at Brookside will be aimed at enabling residents to enjoy a better quality of life through supporting them to live more independently and remain in their own homes for as long as possible. As a not-for-profit organisation, we are driven by a different ethos to private agencies and the quality of Hica’s service is very much reflected by this.”
Hica currently has over 750 staff in its Hica At Home Division, which provides care to more than 1,300 service users in the North West, Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.
