In-house legal awards shortlist revealed

LAWYERS working in-house at some of the region’s biggest and best-known businesses, have been shortlisted for recognition.

Nominees including teams and individuals working at The Co-operative Group, BetFred, BAE Systems and both Manchester City and United football clubs.

The individual award pits Simon Cliff of Manchester City against his Old Trafford counterpart Patrick Steward. A third sporting representative is Nick Craig from the Football League. The other finalists are Manchester Airport’s Emma Terry and Stephen McDowell of BAE Systems.

The awards, organised by the Law Society’s Commerce & Industry Group North West, take place at the Lowry Hotel on October 19.

Paul Jonson, head of dispute resolution & regulatory at Manchester law firm Pannone, sponsor of the awards, said: “The calibre of the shortlist is excellent and demonstrates the quality of in-house legal counsel in the region many of whom work for some of the world’s biggest brands.”
