Chester Uni to start new halls

THE University of Chester is poised to begin work on new student accommodation block after agreeing a finance package with Santander Corporate Banking.
The four-storey block, which will house 202 students, is being built by Morgan Sindall.
The new building will be located opposite the library on the main Chester campus and should be ready for the new student in-take in September 2013.
Vice chancellor, professor Tim Wheeler, said: “The University continues to go from strength to strength, consistently improving in the rankings and our academic results.
“We have a fantastic student community that contributes a significant amount to our local area, both in terms of voluntary support and economic impact. This new development will complement our existing accommodation portfolio and ensure that we continue to attract the best students.”
The size of Santander’s loan was not disclosed. The bank has also opened a new branch on the campus.
