Appointments: McHugh joins MAG; Concordia Technologies; Lex Autolease

MAG Developments, the property and development arm of Manchester Airports Group, has recruited John McHugh as marketing manager from property company Bruntwood.
Based at MAG’s headquarters at Manchester Airport, he will lead the branding strategy and marketing strategy for MAG’s property business.
He will also be responsible for developing marketing material and managing relationships with advertising and creative agencies.
In the newly created role, McHugh’s remit includes MAG’s existing £355m property portfolio across Manchester, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports; along with the £650m major Enterprise Zone development, Airport City Manchester – plus other airport property development initiatives, including Aviation Business Park, Bournemouth.
In his previous role as Bruntwood’s marketing manager, he worked across the company’s Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham portfolios.

LANCASHIRE cabling specialist Concordia Technologies has appointed David Thornton as financial controller.
Mr Thornton will report to group finance director Paul McGreevy and be responsible for managing the day-to-day finance requirements of the business.
He joins the business from Baxenden Chemicals part of US-based Chemtura, a chemicals group where he worked for more than 14 years. He is CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) qualified.

LEX Autolease, the country’s largest fleet management and fleet funding specialist, has strengthened its Cheadle-based commercial vehicle team with the addition of Gary Banister.
Mr Banister, who joins the business as a senior manager in the commercial vehicle consultancy, previously worked for Rentokil-Initial where he was category director for fleet and fleet operations.
Lex Autolease employs more than 700 staff at base in Cheadle office.

CHESTER-based private client solicitor Bik-ki Irving has been appointed as the regional co-ordinator for the Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE).
Ms Irving, who works for SAS Daniels, is an expert in wills, estate planning, lasting powers of attorney and estate administration, and is recognised in the region as a specialist in dealing with elderly clients and those with mental capacity issues.
SFE is an independent association of legal professionals committed to providing high quality advice for older and vulnerable people, their families and carers.
She says: “The requirements of the elderly population are constantly changing and SFE provides a forum for law firms to share information and skills, and essentially continue best-practice development across the board.”
