Bury seeks ‘artisan market’ operator

BURY Council is looking for an organiser to roll out “artisan markets” across the borough.

In a statement the council said it wanted to build on the success of Ramsbottom’s farmers’ market.

It is seeking an operator to manage artisan markets, offering a mix of quality local food and crafts, in Ramsbottom, Whitefield, Prestwich and Radcliffe starting from April.

“We are interested in hearing from local community-based organisations that may be able to work in collaboration with the council and our partners to successfully deliver our markets,” said the council.

Bury Council operates three market sites with the largest being the award-winning Bury Market, which hosts over 370 stalls every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
