£1m investment in Bar Sport in Wilmslow

AN investment of around £1m will see an American-themed sports bar opening in Wilmslow, creating more than 20 jobs.
Bar Sport, which will include 50 HD and 3D televisions and an exclusive VIP area, is opening on the site of the former La Tasca restaurant on Parsonage Green, Alderley Road
Themed with authentic sports memorabilia, the venue will be on two floors with a bar and dance floor downstairs and the VIP area upstairs.
Bar Sport, which was first set up in the West Midlands in 1998, was one of the first American-style themed bars and now operates eight franchises around the country but is growing all the time.
Daniel Slifkin, 45, Bar Sport franchisee at Wilmslow, said: “I am a huge sports fan myself and had thought about opening a sports bar for some time.
“I had seen the vacant premises on Parsonage Green and thought it would be an excellent opportunity. I did some research and found out about the Bar Sport franchise and knew it was for me. There isn’t anything like this in Wilmslow and I am hoping it will be a great success.
“There is a bar downstairs and we have created a special VIP area upstairs which can also be used for exclusive private parties. We have spent a lot of money on the venue to make it a special and unique venue for Wilmslow and we hope it will become very popular.”
