Prime Structures on the move after funding deal

PRIME Structures, a Lancashire conservatory business, is set to create more than 40 jobs after agreeing a £500,000 funding deal which will see it move to bigger premises.

The finance agreement with Santander Corporate & Commercial will see the business move from Bacup to Blackburn in the coming months.

Prime Structures designs and manufactures pre-constructed conservatories and extensions for residential dwellings. The construction technique they use allows the building to be pre-built at its then simply assembled on site.

The business has been based in its current premises at Broadclough Mill on Burnley Road in Bacup since it was founded in 2009.

Prime Structures, which expects to take on the new staff over the next 12 months, has recently won  a significant contract with Twin Valley homes housing association based in Blackburn.

Managing director Ian Chew said: “Whilst our current premises are sufficient for our current output, we needed somewhere bigger for our planned growth, so it’s fantastic to have secured this funding from Santander, which will enable us to move and to grow the business.

“We’re also going to invest in new machinery to meet the demand we’re now receiving and start recruiting people to work in the new building.”

Rob Thompson, relationship director for Santander Corporate & Commercial, added:  “I am delighted we have been able to support the growth plans of Prime Structures. They have a great product which is proving to be more popular than they ever thought possible in the beginning, so I’m really pleased to be a part of what I think will be a really great growth story over the next few years.”
