Work starts at Kings Dock

Work has started on the £47m Kings Dock Mill development in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

The development, being delivered by Liverpool-based architect LAG Prichard, includes a 150-bed hotel, 3,600 sq ft of office space and a mix of 190 one and two bedroom apartments.

Contractor Bowmer and Kirkland have started digging the foundations for the 1.5-acre mixed use scheme, and are carrying out other key preparation works.

Jonathon Prichard, director at LAG Prichard, said: “This scheme will transform an old warehousing site into a vibrant mixed use development, anchored by a new hotel.

“The development is within easy walking distance of Kings Waterfront, ACC Liverpool and Liverpool One and will act as a further extension of the city boundary and offer city centre living for all those keen to take advantage of these great new facilities.

The Kings Dock Mill development recently received £22.5m funding from Lloyds TSB Corporate Markets. It received £5m mezzanine funding from Investec Private Banking in January.

Construction should be finished by January 2010.
