Boohoo.com distribution expansion to create 360 jobs

THE expansion of online fashion retailer www.boohoo.com continues as it is to create a further 360 jobs at its distribution site in Burnley.
Plans have been lodged with Burnley Council for a 102,500 sq ft extension to the existing distribution building and another four-storey amenity facility of 30,500 sq ft.
The extension would see the company’s Heasandford Industrial Estate premises double in size and staff numbers will increase from 425 to 785, with roles across warehousing, picking and administration.
The company has said it wants to further increase that number to more than 1,000 staff by 2015.
The land has been owned by parent company Wasabi Frog Ltd for the past three-and-a-half years, in anticipation of the growth proposals.
£67m turnover Boohoo.com, which has headquarters in Manchester, is expected to list on the stock market before Easter this year.
