Roger Hannah sells key Leeds property

MANCHESTER property agent Roger Hannah & Co has negotiated the sale of a key site in central Leeds that will form part of a major £150m mixed-use scheme.

It has advised Leeds-based ATC Properties, whose largest shareholder is Chris Ure, on the sale of 7-25 Eastgate to developer Hammerson.

The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Hammerson wants the site for the second phase of its Victoria Gate scheme.

It has already received planning permission for the first 400,000 sq ft phase, anchored by John Lewis, and work is due to start in April. The second phase is not due to start until 2018.

The Eastgate property generates an income of around £400,000 a year. Hammerson was represented by CBRE.
