Assurant chooses Crewe for European HQ
US insurance business Assurant plans to make Crewe its European headquarters following last year’s acquisition of Phones 4u’s insurance arm Lifestyle Services Group (LSG).
The New York Stock Exchange-listed firm bought LSG for £107m in October.
It now plans to lease additional space and add a further 100 staff to its 1,100 Crewe-based workforce.
Chris Harrison, president of the European business, said: “Our business is entering an exciting new phase. We see tremendous opportunity to grow our business across Europe as we continue to concentrate our efforts on providing mobile insurance and extended warranties for the things that matter most to consumers.
“I am confident that we will achieve our business goals which will result in our Crewe head office and contact centre continuing to grow and prosper. There is a strong talent pool in Crewe and we hope to become an employer of choice for local people as our training and development programme is second to none.”
Assurant is holding an open evening evening at its base in Westmere Drive, Crewe Business Park on May 1 from 5pm-8pm to give people the chance to find out about career opportunities.
